5-part versus 3-part, in one line: a 3-part analyser groups white cells into 3 groups; a 5-part analyser separates them into five types (Neu, Lym, Mon, Eos, Bas), so the report is more detailed. The parameter count is how many values are on the report (BC-5000: 23), throughput is samples per hour (40), and sample volume in µL is the blood the analyser draws (15 µL).

About the BC-5000
What is the difference between the BC-5000 and the BC-21s?
The BC-5000 separates white cells into five types (5-part) and reports 23 parameters at 40 samples per hour. The BC-21s groups them into 3 (3-part) and reports 21 parameters, but runs faster (60 samples per hour) on a smaller sample (9 µL). If you need the five-type differential, choose the BC-5000.
Who operates the analyser?
A trained lab technician runs it and performs calibration and quality control; the physician reads the result. It is operated from a touch screen that supports English and other languages.
Which reagents does it need?
Four: diluent, DIFF lyse, LH lyse and probe cleanser, with a cyanide-free haemoglobin reagent. Order reagents and spare parts from customer service on 01212333328.
What power supply does it need?
100–240 V, 50/60 Hz. It works at 10 to 30 °C and 20–85% humidity, so an air-conditioned room is best.
How are results stored and printed?
It stores up to 20,000 results with numbers and graphs and sends them to the lab information system (LIS) over LAN with HL7. It prints to an external thermal, laser or inkjet printer, in report formats you can customise.

Yes, within 14 days of delivery, if it is unused, complete with its accessories and in its original packaging. If it arrives defective or different from your order, we replace it or refund it in full. Masks, tubing and any items that contact the patient cannot be returned once opened, for hygiene reasons. Return shipping is on us for a defect or a wrong item; otherwise the customer pays it, unless a free-shipping offer applies.
