A continuous infusion is vital to any dehydrated patient.
The flow rate is conditioned by the required volume and the duration of the infusion:
Volume to infuse = initial deficit to compensate (1) + maintenance need (2) + loss (3)
- Deficit to compensate in liter = Weight (Kg) x % of dehydration / 100
During surgery:
