Infant Phototherapy capsule

Technical Specifications:

1- The Infant Phototherapy capsule ’s cylindrical body is made of shock-resistant fiber-class, insulating to electricity and heat, and the capsule wheel is also anti-static.

2- Contains (16) fluorescent lamps (UV rays) Philips type (TL-52) with wavelength (400-540) nm.

3- The bulbs are easy to disassemble and install and are surrounded by a transparent cover that isolates the bulbs from the child.

4- The casing is calibrated in such a way that any liquid is accidentally spilled by running away from the treatment bulbs without any short circuit.

5- The life span of the bulbs ranges from 2000 to 2500 working hours.

6- The device is equipped with fans to cool the lamp room, transformer room and electrical circuit.

7- The face of the submarine is covered with a layer of black class (FEME) to protect the supervisors of treatment from UV rays.

8- The device contains two accumulated time counters to measure the total operating hours of the lamps to determine the time of replacement (for each eight lamps its own counter in the case of the submarine running at half its capacity 8 lamps only).

9- The device also has a timer to determine the session duration.

10- Each treatment lamp contains a “signal” lamp (Led) attached to it so that it stops working simultaneously with the treatment lamp.

What is the difference between submarine therapy and Jaundice therapy (Phototherapy) that are placed over the nursery?

Reducing the rate of exchange of blood for children by 96%, even in cases in which the percentage of Jaundice blood is reduced to (20-24).

Reducing treatment time by one day (three or four sessions), the session ranges between 3-4 hours, and each session intersects a quarter of an hour for the child and breastfeeding.

  • The child is kept on the bed and there is no need to turn over during the treatment due to the spread of the treatment lamps in a circular motion around the child (360) degrees.
  • The hospital provides for the occupancy of a large number of nurseries because the child’s treatment of jaundice with phototherapy is done by placing the child in the nursery and exposing the rays from outside the nursery through the phototherapy device that contains only four or five treated lamps, which takes several days, sometimes up to ten days, and this is due to a negative financial return to the hospital and for the child’s parents.
  • The number of treatment lamps (16 treatment lamps) and the number of phototherapy lamps are four or five. After measuring the intensity of the light and comparing the two treatments, the reading of the light intensity for the phototherapy is 4%.

The proportion of the light intensity reading of the submarine was 19%, and there is a wide difference between the two types, and this difference shows distinction and a big difference in the speed and feasibility of treatment.

  • Important note:

The child’s eyes and testicles should be covered during treatment.
